Color Palette
Save and reuse your organization's brand colors
The Custom Color Palette lets you save frequently used colors so your team can quickly select them when creating campaigns and communications. This keeps colors consistent and speeds up work. This feature is available on all tiers.
1. Understanding the Color Palette
The color palette is a collection of saved colors shared across your organization. When you save colors to the palette, they appear in color pickers throughout the app, making it easy to use your brand colors consistently.
What the palette does:
- Saves colors for quick access
- Shares colors with your entire team
- Appears in color selection dropdowns
- Keeps your organization's colors organized
Who can manage colors:
- Owners and Admins — Can view, add, edit, and delete colors
- Editors — Can view and use saved colors but cannot add, edit, or delete them
- Viewers — Cannot access the color palette
Note: Colors saved to the palette are available to everyone in your organization. When you add or change a color, all team members see the update.
2. Accessing the Color Palette Manager
Manage your saved colors from the Color Palette Manager.
Opening the Manager
- Look for the Colors icon (palette icon) in the sidebar
- Click the icon to open the Color Palette Manager side panel
- The panel shows all your saved colors in a grid
The manager displays:
- All saved colors as color circles
- An "Add Color" button (if you have permission)
- Options to edit or delete colors (if you have permission)
Note: If you don't see the Colors icon or can't access the manager, check with your team administrator about your permissions.
3. Adding Colors to the Palette
Add colors to make them available to your team.
Saving a New Color
- Open the Color Palette Manager from the sidebar
- Find the "Add Color" button (dashed circle with a "+" icon)
- Click the button to open the color picker
- Select your color using the picker
- The color is saved automatically and appears in the palette
The new color appears immediately in the palette and is available to all team members.
Tips for choosing colors:
- Use your organization's brand colors for consistency
- Save colors you use frequently
- Consider saving colors for different campaign types or seasons
- Use hex color codes if you know them (e.g., #FF5733)
Note: Colors are saved in hex format (like #FF5733). The system normalizes colors automatically, so you don't need to worry about formatting.
4. Editing Saved Colors
Update existing colors if your brand colors change or you want to adjust them.
Changing a Color
- Open the Color Palette Manager
- Click the color circle you want to change
- The color picker opens
- Select the new color
- The change saves automatically
The updated color appears immediately in the palette and in all color pickers throughout the app.
Note: Only owners and admins can edit colors. If you're an editor, you can use saved colors but cannot change them. Contact your team administrator if you need a color updated.
5. Deleting Colors
Remove colors you no longer need.
Removing a Color
- Open the Color Palette Manager
- Find the color you want to remove
- Click the delete button (X icon) on that color
- Confirm the deletion if prompted
The color is removed from the palette immediately and no longer appears in color pickers.
Note: Only owners and admins can delete colors. If you're an editor, contact your team administrator to remove colors you don't need.
6. Using Saved Colors
Saved colors appear automatically when you select colors for campaigns or communications.
Selecting Colors from the Palette
When you're creating or editing a campaign or communication:
- Click the color picker (the colored circle)
- A dropdown opens showing:
- Saved Colors section — Your palette colors in a grid
- Custom Color section — Option to choose any color
- Click a saved color to select it
- The color is applied immediately
Saved Colors display:
- Shows up to 10 colors by default
- If you have more than 10 colors, click "Show All" to see the complete list
- Colors appear in the order they were added
- The currently selected color is highlighted with a blue border
Note: Even if you can't manage the color palette (like editors), you can still use all saved colors when selecting colors for campaigns and communications.
7. Best Practices
Follow these tips to get the most out of your color palette:
Organization:
- Save your primary brand colors first
- Add seasonal or campaign-specific colors as needed
- Remove colors you no longer use to keep the palette clean
- Consider organizing colors by purpose (brand colors, seasonal colors, etc.)
Team coordination:
- Communicate with your team when adding or changing colors
- Use consistent naming or organization if you have many colors
- Keep the palette focused on colors your team actually uses
- Update colors when your brand guidelines change
Efficiency:
- Save colors you use frequently to speed up campaign creation
- Use saved colors instead of custom colors when possible for consistency
- Keep the palette manageable—too many colors can slow down selection
Note: The color palette is shared across your entire organization. When you add, edit, or delete colors, all team members see the changes immediately. This helps maintain consistency but means you should coordinate with your team before making major changes.
8. Troubleshooting
I don't see the Colors icon in the sidebar:
- Check with your team administrator about your permissions
- Viewers don't have access to the color palette manager
I can see colors but can't add or edit them:
- Editors can view and use saved colors but cannot manage them
- Contact an owner or admin to add or change colors
Colors aren't appearing in the color picker:
- Make sure colors have been saved to the palette
- Try refreshing the page
- Check that you're selecting colors in a campaign or communication form
I want to use a color that's not in the palette:
- You can always use the "Custom Color" option in the color picker
- Consider adding frequently used custom colors to the palette for future use
