Terms and expectations for participation in the open beta program, including voluntary feedback, transition to paid subscription, and confidentiality guidelines.

Communicate Open Beta Tester Agreement

Last Updated: March 25, 2025

1. Introduction & Acceptance

By signing up for the Communicate Open Beta Program, you agree to the terms outlined in this agreement. Participation is voluntary and free during the beta phase.

By accepting this agreement, you also consent to:

  • Receiving communications related to the beta program, including feature updates, testing instructions, and optional feedback requests.
  • Optionally providing feedback through surveys or forms to help improve the platform.
  • Occasionally being contacted for voluntary interviews or discussions.

If you do not agree to these terms, you should not proceed with beta program enrollment.

2. Transition to Paid Subscription

  • The Communicate App is free to use for all testers while the platform remains in beta.
  • Once the beta period ends, users will have a 30-day grace period to select a paid subscription plan in order to continue using the app.
  • After the grace period, continued access will require a paid plan.
  • You will be notified in advance when the beta period is nearing its end.

3. Beta Product Limitations

  • The beta version is not final and may include:
    • Bugs or missing features.
    • Frequent updates or changes.
    • Unstable functionality at times.
  • Communicate does not guarantee feature retention, data security, or uninterrupted access during beta testing.
  • For users in the EEA and UK: By participating in the beta program, you acknowledge that data may be processed outside your region. If you have concerns regarding data transfers, you may request account deletion at any time by contacting [email protected].
  • Multi-User Access (Beta Feature): This feature is currently in beta and may be modified, restricted, or removed at any time.
  • Participation in the beta version does not guarantee that users will retain free access or that multi-user functionality will remain in its current form after launch.
  • Future updates may introduce role-based permissions, access controls, or pricing adjustments.

Data Ownership, Processing & Export for Multi-User Accounts

  • The original account owner retains full ownership of all data within the account.
  • If an invited user leaves the account, they do not have the right to export, copy, or retain account data unless explicitly granted permission by the account owner.
  • If the account owner deletes the account, all associated users will lose access, and stored data may be permanently removed.
  • Data Processing & GDPR Compliance: Beta testers in the EEA and UK may request access, correction, or deletion of their personal data by contacting [email protected].

4. Feedback (Optional)

  • While feedback is encouraged, it is not required for participation.
  • Testers may be invited to fill out forms or participate in voluntary interviews to help improve the app.
  • Participation in feedback opportunities will not impact access to the beta or any future subscription decisions.

5. Confidentiality & Sharing

  • Testers may publicly share their experiences with Communicate.
  • However, testers may NOT share:
    • Screenshots of the platform.
    • Early pricing discussions.
    • Internal communications or roadmap details.
    • Bug reports or feature changes in a way that misrepresents the product.
  • If testers post publicly about Communicate, they are encouraged to tag Communicate for engagement.

6. Termination, Non-Participation & Data Rights

  • Testers may leave the beta at any time by requesting account removal.
  • Data Deletion Requests: If you wish to request the deletion of your personal data, you can submit a request to [email protected]. Requests will be processed in compliance with applicable GDPR regulations, and data will be deleted unless retention is required by law.
  • Communicate may remove testers if they:
    • Violate confidentiality rules.
    • Engage in misuse of the platform.

Multi-User Access & Account Owner Responsibility

  • If the account owner invites additional users, they are fully responsible for managing, monitoring, and removing those users as needed.
  • At this time, all invited users have equal access to the account, including the ability to create, edit, and delete data.
  • Communicate is not liable for any unauthorized changes, data loss, or security risks resulting from an invited user’s actions.
  • Account owners should only invite trusted individuals, as access controls and user roles have not yet been implemented in the beta version.

7. No Payment Obligation During Beta

  • Participation in the beta is free while the program is active.
  • After the beta concludes, testers will have a 30-day grace period to transition to a paid plan.
  • Continued access after the grace period will require a paid subscription.
