Quick Start: Channel Preferences

Preferred weekday and excluded days per channel—aligned with how you actually send.

Quick Start: Channel Preferences

Tell Communicate your “best” day and your “never” days for each channel

Channel Preferences are light rules per channel: a weekday you usually send on, and weekdays you don’t use for that channel. That cuts down on wrong-day drops when you plan on the Calendar, Campaign Schedule, and Smart Templates.

If you add Channel Schedules, those layer on top of Preferences—this page is Preferences only.

Set it up

  1. Open Channels from the sidebar.
  2. Expand a channel and turn Preferences on.
  3. Set Preferred day (or None if you only want exclusions) and use the weekday chips for Excluded weekdays.
  4. Save. Reset clears preferences for that channel.

Collapsed rows show quick badges (Auto, a weekday like Mon, etc.).

Where it applies

Calendar — No drops on excluded weekdays for that channel. Moving comms between weeks keeps the weekday when it can; if that day is excluded, Communicate may move to your preferred weekday. Click + to add a comm: its date lands on your preferred weekday when you’ve set one.

Campaign Schedule — Same rules when you drag from the palette or move comms between cells. While you drag, the calendar changes colors for preferred vs excluded days. Smart Template preview runs before you commit.

Smart TemplatesNo Preferences: you see Auto (generic placement). With Preferences: Auto (Follow Preferences)—comms use your preferred weekday and excluded days. Preview before you commit.

Preferences vs Schedule — Preferences = usual weekday + hard nos. A Schedule is a separate recurring layer. See Quick Start: Channel Schedules; Channel Preferences and Schedules covers both.
