Workspace (Global and campus)
The WORKSPACE control in the top navigation is your current context: either all campuses you are allowed to work in as one org-wide view (Global) or one specific campus (shown by that campus’s name).
When you will see this
Most of the time you won’t. If multi-campus is off, not set up, or your church is still effectively one location in the product, Communicate does not split the world into Global vs campus workspaces—you just use the app normally.
When multi-campus is on for Plus and your account is set up for it, WORKSPACE appears with Switch workspace: Global (when you’re allowed) and each campus in order. Your last choice is remembered for your login.
In one line: Global is shared across campuses. Campus is specific to one location.
Who gets Global in the menu
- Organization-wide access: You can see Global in the switcher (when the org has multiple campuses and the product shows it).
- Campus-limited teammates: They never see Global. With one campus they may see only that campus name (no dropdown). With several, they switch between those campuses only.
Owners and Admins are always organization-wide when multi-campus is on; Managers, Editors, and Viewers can be organization-wide or limited to specific campuses—see Admin Console.
Why workspace matters
Your workspace changes which campaigns show on the list, whether you can edit a global-owned campaign on its page, how global communications behave on the Calendar, and whether you can drag global campaigns on the Timeline. It also controls when the sidebar Campuses panel is available for management (Global-only when multi-campus is on).
Those rules are spelled out in Multi-campus (Plus): workspaces, campaigns, and schedules.
