What's New — September 2026

Intake, sign-off, and a clearer work hub—built for how your team actually collaborates

This release adds a work layer on top of the planning you already use. Campaigns, Calendar, and Timeline stay the system of record. What’s new is how promotion requests arrive, how plans get a sign-off, and how assigned work shows up in one place.

In the app, What's new in Communicate (September 2026) opens once until you dismiss Got it. Use this page as the overview. Each section links to the how-to.

Requests — Plus

Ministries can submit a form when they need something promoted. Those promotion requests land in Inbox. After you mark a request Approved, you can optionally Generate campaign—it never creates a campaign by itself.

There is no Requester role and no public form link. Everyone who submits is a signed-in church member.

  • Where to start: Requests in the sidebar → Forms to build, Inbox to review
  • Learn more: Requests · Request Forms

Unlimited Viewers — every plan

Viewers are unlimited on Essentials and Plus. Team operator seats stay 1 on Essentials and 5 on Plus.

Invite operators from Admin Console → Teams → Members, and invite Viewers from the Viewers column on the same page.

Campaign approval

Tag one person to sign off on a campaign plan—Waiting for approval or Approved. Send from the campaign, or select several on the Campaigns list and Send for approval. Optional note with @mentions.

This is not the same as a request’s Approved status.

  • Where to start: Open a campaign → Send for Approval
  • Learn more: Campaigns

Assignments hub — Plus

Assignments is one list of campaign work, communication work, and owned requests. Switch List (Today / This week / Later) and Board (Received → Complete). Open a row for the handling modal: person, progress, due date, and Comments.

Unassigned requests stay in Inbox, not here.

  • Where to start: Assignments in the sidebar
  • Learn more: Assignments

Richer comments — Plus

Threads now support one-level replies, file attachments (JPG, PNG, WebP, PDF), thumbs-up, and @mentions. Campaign and communication comments live on the assignment row. Requests have two rooms: Updates (shared with the submitter) and Comments (team only).

For you

On Requests, Campaigns, and Assignments, a For you strip lists only work waiting on you—start assigned work, send more info, or approve a campaign. Unread comments stay as dots on the item, not as For you cards. Sidebar icons on those three areas show a ping when that For you set is new.
