Glossary
Short definitions for church communications and Communicate App terms. For product labels in one place, see also Terminology. Individual glossary pages go deeper; feature guides are linked where Essentials vs Plus or roles matter.
Core Concepts
Campaign
A plan for an event or initiative (dates, category, color, optional brief and assets). Status: Draft, Active, or Archived. See Campaigns.
Communication
One scheduled message on a channel. Usually tied to a campaign; can also be standalone on the Calendar. Entry status: Draft, Active, or Done. See Communications.
Channel
The medium you plan against (Email, Instagram, Pre-Service Slides, and so on). Channels are rows on the Calendar and campaign Communication Schedule. See Channels.
Copy
Campaign-level messaging text (long / medium / short). On each communication, the piece you send is edited as Content.
Category
A label for organizing and filtering campaigns (and related pickers). Managed under Categories. See Categories.
Features & Tools
Template
A reusable communication plan you apply to a campaign (Plus). Prefer Smart templates; Legacy grid templates remain. See Templates.
Calendar
Week/day grid of communications by channel. Sidebar label Calendar. See Calendar.
Timeline
Campaign bars across weeks. Quick Add creates campaigns on Essentials and Plus; drag/resize bars needs Plus. See Timeline.
Channel Preferences
Preferred day (No preferred day or a weekday), preferred time, and blocked days per channel (Essentials and Plus). See Quick Start: Channel Preferences.
Channel Schedules
Recurring Schedules on the Calendar (Plus). See Quick Start: Channel Schedules.

Notification
In-app (bell) and email alerts. Preferences under User Settings. See Notifications.
Organization & Structure
Campus
A physical location. Multi-campus (Plus) covers when Global vs campus workspaces and ownership appear.
Multi-campus (Plus)
Workspaces, global vs campus campaigns, branched schedules, locks, and team access—only when Plus has multi-campus enabled; otherwise the app behaves as a single campus.
Workspace (Global and campus)
The WORKSPACE control: Global vs a campus name—short overview before the full multi-campus guide.
Color Palette
Saved brand colors in sidebar Colors, reused in campaign and communication pickers (Essentials and Plus). See Color Palette.
Draft Status
Draft means not ready yet. On the Calendar and Timeline, drafts are off by default in View; turn Drafts on to show them (lighter / dashed styling). Campaigns also use Draft vs Active.
Active Status
Active marks a campaign or communication as in play (visible in normal scheduling views). Communications can later be marked Done; campaigns are finished with Archive, not a “Complete” status.
